The Brief

Derived from nature.
Rooted in science.

Prakṛti, from Sanskrit, encompasses the interconnectivity of all things, all cosmic tasks, and the nurturing of every child's innermost potential. Designed for the 6th National Montessori Conference, this brand traces every design decision back to neuroscience: the logo maps the neural nodes active during the creative process, plotted mathematically. The crayon textures speak to children. The earth tones root the work in nature.

Dynamic, Current
A happening. Something current and changing. Focused on the now.
Inward-Facing
Not exhibitive. Introspective. Offers a sense of seeking.
Deeply Connected
Interconnections between all constituents. Every link matters.

The Mark

A map of
the creative mind.

Each node in the mark represents one of those centres. Each line is a mathematically-plotted connection between them - tracing the exact patterns observed in the data (note below). The result is a mark that is simultaneously scientific and deeply human.

Research basis The brain centres active during the creative process were identified through fMRI studies and EEG results, drawn from peer-reviewed research. Their spatial relationships were computed mathematically to construct the constellation of connections visible in the logo: each line a documented pathway, each node an active centre.

Bookmarks

Something to keep.

Handout bookmarks for conference attendees and for publicity pre-event - two styles, front and back. One side in botanical crayon illustration, speaking to children. The other in clean brand type, with the conference details and a map to Bengaluru. Things people would actually want to hold onto.

“Shhh... do you hear that potential?”
